Yeah, I've seen this guy before. I saw his do a cool painting of Ray Charles. He's amazing.

Also, I saw your comments over on the new Who website. Yes, I gave in and shelled out the $50 bucks too. I was on a bit of a spending spree yesterday. Oooops!

Fifty Three? Wow!!!

Seriously Lace, you look great for 53. I'm shocked that you are soooo old. lol. I really thought you were in your mid-to-late 30's.

Well, now that I know the truth...maybe you can answer some questions:

1) Was Moses really as cool as he is portrayed in that book?

2) Silent movies...what was that all about?

3) Martha Washington...What was she really like?

4) The discovery of Fire...What effect did this have on your childhood?

OK...I'll stop, lol!

Again..Happy Birthday:)

Ah Rob, alas, I am older than dirt and can actually tell you stories such as of the Flood:

1)Yes, Moses was very, very kewl. Not only did he invent the first sunglasses after the burning bush incident, but as you probably recognize, his beard was inspiration for the explosion of facial hair of the early 60s for which I was also a partaker (of the movement, not the facial hair, that didn't happen until much later.. at menopause).

2) Silent movies were never actually silent, they just appeared so because the microphone had not yet been invented. On the set it was quite noisy, and given that the actors knew their audiences could not hear them, perhaps it is best they were *silent* at the time.

3) Martha, well she was nothing like our present day *Martha*, as she spent absolutely no time in jail. Given his job, it would have embarrassed George terribly and she was too much of a lady to do that.

4) Actually, I was traumatized by the discovery of fire. As you might know from some post below, my father was our villages Fire Chief, and because it was easiest to run the electrical wiring into the last room off the back of the house (my bedroom) whenever that doggone bell signaling there was a fire would go off downtown, the MATCHING BELL IN MY BEDROOM ALSO RANG LIKE BIG BEN AT ANY AND ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT! Bout scared me 1/2 to death most 3 ams, no wonder I have tinnitus. (True story!!!!)

But thanks for the bday wishes.

PS Do you need glasses?

:P

I am *so* happy that the record has been set straight on Moses. Here I was reading everything in stone. sheesh.

(queen of corn)

hehe.

p.s. happy b-day to all the incredibly mysterious Scorpions. ::::tiptoes out::: in awe ...

Great answers Lace! I don't understand the "Do I need glasses" part though...
What did I do that would lead you to ask such a question? I'm curious...

Oh, I think I know. Is it because I thought you looked in your 30's?
If so...Very humble of you but come on give yourself some credit:)

Just for the record...I have perfect vision. It was a compliment from a 20/20 guy.

Wow - he's quite a showman, isn't he? Very clever indeed. LOVED Gypsy's Rolf Harris dirty breathing call.

Probs risking making myself very unpopular here, but the patriotic fervour leaves me a bit ... um ... disturbed. Don't get me wrong, as they say; I'm proud of my country and its people too, but not unreservedly, and whenever people go mad on the flag-waving I get a bit uncomfortable. Shades of wartime propaganda perhaps - especially from WW2.

Pardon my rambling - it's lovely to see you out and about. Hope all is lovely with you. Oh, and a belated Happy Birthday!

Hey all!! I haven't been here and miss every one of you.. when Rachel gave permission for Behind Blue Eyes to appear at IAC I'd no idea whatsoever it would set off a chain of events that I am still kablinking at...

Long story short, Behind Blue Eyes arrived at my IAC artist's page on 11/25/07. On 11/26/07 I was notified that Cashbox Magazine had heard it and placed it on their Top Ten Pop Picks. After I collected my jaw from the desktop, I've been busy pinching myself to be sure I'm not dreaming this.

If you want to go see it at Cashbox, cut and paste the following link.. by the time you get there it may have fallen off the chart.. but it entered at #10. You can click on the circle with the triangle (above the circle with the +) to play it if it still appears there:

If you want to visit it at IAC click the following link at my IAC radio page.. I'm just still amazed.. I'd no idea Cashbox/IAC would have noticed this song..

Congrats on the success of the song Lace:)
I just went to the link and listened again. As a matter of fact, I put the link on my desktop for a couple reasons.
1) It's very good!
2) I met a girl who I've been seeing for a couple weeks who has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. She likes to sing country and more mellow stuff but I've been trying to get her to sing some of my slightly heavier tunes as well as some Who tunes, etc. She seems to think that she can't sing stuff sung by men...only women. I will use your version of "Behind Blue Eyes" as an example that she can do it. So thank you again. Maybe this will show her that she can make a song all her own with a little thought and creativity!
