Musical GENEius

Is musical talent contained in the genes? My opinion is that there is something innate in artists and musicians that drives them towards creating their art. That perhaps they also possess an ability for aesthetic feelings that some do not.

I recall closing my eyes and listening to the music/harmonies one practice long ago. The feeling that ascended was my own soul floating, suddenly lifted, weightless, as chills rose up my spine. Some people look for that kind of feeling via the use of drugs and alcohol, so said my partner at the time. Musicians and artists obtain them as a natural high, IMO.

I believe that the ability to produce music is in the blood, intricately linked to something internal, God given, and passed from one generation to the next. Is my hypothesis correct? I've no idea. Some say *yah*.. others say *nay*.

I believe artistic talents are all God given gifts. Not passed down from generation to generation but simply gifts from God. Hence the words, gifted and talented. A true blessing for sure to those who are gifted and for those they touch. Not an easy path by a long shot. But, a blessing non the less.

Peace, love and light,
