Hiya honey, I'm good! But I am also a computer nitwit!

I've been clicking on the links for WHO TV since it started and my lil AOL media player pops up, says it's connecting; I wait and wait and.. nothing happens.

I HAVE a Windows Media Player but it doesn't pop up when I click the WHO TV link. I'm thinking now that I must need to set it as the default player. I'll go try that and see if it works. If not, I'll let you know and perhaps you can help me figure out what I'm doing so wrong.

I've been dying to see you, Pete and Mikey and so say a prayer this works!

PS. Lovin' your blog! :)

I'll try to help...this same thing was happening to me with my Mac

Go to File then click on Applications, you will see if your Window Media Player is on there, if it is just click, then go back to WHO TV. Click and it should work.
good luck

Hi Grl,

Thanx for dropping in to help. I'm still lost. I'm on dial up phone, not cable. Is this my problem?

My Windows Media Center only wants to play radio stations.

I was trying to sound cool like I figured it out and it worked the first time. I'd been trying for a while with no luck and then in New York Rachel asked if I watched WHO TV and I had to bow my head in shame. So she talked me through it and I was determined to make it work after that.
Yeah, Dad drummed with the Grateful Dead. That's how I got to meet Pete over the years.

I can't even pretend to be kewl Justin, I'm just a hopeless case LOL.

I keep looking through programs and faq sheets and just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. When I click the WHO TV link my aol media player pops up and the address for WHO TV shows in the box above the controls but the screen stays blank.

If i go to my aol toolbar and click on *file* I can't find any *applications* to click on as Lzygrl suggests. I went to aol tech help and no one showed up to respond to my query. But I really want to see WHO TV and so, I'll keep trying!

So you've met Pete over the years? I *met* Rachel online at the Kept message board and so have been to Pete's blog several thousand times (g). It must be an interesting life to grow up in the midst of stardom. I'll listen to anything you'd like to tell me about it.

Thanx for stopping in!

BVL...Please, if you have to PAY someone to help you. Do so. You will enjoy this show immensely. I'm not kidding, I am absolutely rivited. I love Rachel for bringing this to us, she is a natural born star. As for Pete, well my love is endless...his sweet face, passion and voice just keeps getting better with time. He mentioned today, that someone laughed when he put on his glasses during last nights show.("i guess the lords wearing glasses now"). He then remarked that, perhaps he should "put on a wig,and get plastic surgery on the bags under my eyes"
Can you imagine that, oh I would not want to go back in time or for Pete or anyone I love to be anything than what they are and have become...I just don't see the aging process as BAD. Though beleive me I am a very vain girl. But when I look around me and see my friends getting older, there is something reassuring about it.
I don't have much of a blog, but I enjoy making connections with people that I get a good vibe from.
Be well and good luck with getting WHOTV!!!

But you are 'kewl'

I think dial-up is the culprit. I just recently got DSL and WHO TV started working.

I met The Who when I was very young at a WHO/Grateful Dead Day On The Green in '76. Only one I have a clear memory of meeting that day was Keith Moon. He's hard to forget.
Pete has always been so kind to me over the years. I'm more than honored that he considers me a friend.

Grl I surely will, I think what I'll need to pay for is DSL. I know the cost has dropped and so I'll call tomorrow.

I also know I'll love WHO TV. I loved watching Rachel on Kept, even tho that show surely held her in restraint since Jerry Hall was it's star. I love reading her blog as she is so real and so funny. She's unassuming and admits to being human and that I think is why she captivates people.

Pete too is accessible, so when one thinks of the fame he has aspired to, and yet takes the time to actually post on some people's blogs, one can only assume that he feels that part, or most, of his fame is about relationship and connection, rather than objects and money. I figure that is part of why Rachel loves him so. Their love story makes me smile. Hearing that he kids about wigs and glasses and such is just a part of what makes him so human and adorable too.

As for growing old, there are 2 quotes I've fancied and so remember them.

Quote #1 I heard from a local fellow rocker who told me that she was 35 while we were talking during her break at a gig. I was around 28 at the time. I told her that she did not look 35, and she replied, *Of course I do. Women have been lying about their age so long, this is what 35 looks like*. (Author unknown)

Quote #2 is *Hey this growin' old ain't for sissys!* (Author the late Bub O'Hara, another father figure to me)

Me? Some days I don't mind it, I've learned alot and that only came with time. Other days I am a bit shocked to see myself aging, realizing that we aren't here permanently. I then start to wax poetic and feel that the time we do have to spend should be spent very, very carefully. This life. It doesn't last. It's just a temporary stop on our way to the next.

Aw Justin, thanx!

I think you're rite about the dial-up.

The 70s were the best of times. Especially the music of the early 70s. I was a *flower child*, an art major back then. Thanx for sharing your memories. I'm getting the distinct feeling that Pete is just very kind.

Dear BVL
I am on dial-up, as well. I can get the media player to load, but it won't play WhoTV. The sound will come through a bit, but it's all choppy. No picture, though. Very frustrating. My computer is too old to go on DSL (not enough memory for the virus protection that it needs with high-speed).So my only choice is to upgrade my computer...
I have been able to watch a bit of Rachel on the computer at work, but it's difficult for me to follow, because I'm working.
She is great, though & it looks like her "marketing" strategy through blogging is paying off.
Good Luck!

Dale,

I empathize! I've seen Rachel play on her website and would love to see WHO TV, I'm pretty sure it's my lack of DSL that's the culprit. I'll be looking into getting it now.

I loved Rachel's work the minute I saw her, Jerry and Pete perform on Kept. I think it's nore than just a marketing strategy too, she seems to love blogging!

Good luck to you too!

Simon! I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy.. oh wait.. yes I am. We all are, Pete said so!(g) Welcome.

I'm still trying to arrange for WHO TV and so I missed you playing with your bruvver and his equally talented other half. :) He didn't tell you of his blog novella?? Why is family always the last to know!?!

I've been reading TBWHM and am finding, as Pete develops Gabriel's character, that I am becoming more emotionally invested in the story. Are you a writer as well?
